Meet Our Founder
Dr. Tricia Reagan
Founder & CEO, Syncroz
Dr. Reagan is a lifelong advocate for language access and cultural connection. Dr. Reagan started her work in the language industry as an in-person Spanish interpreter in 2004. In 2012, she recognized the growing demand for interpretation and translation services across Central Virginia and founded Richmond Translator LLC. Thanks to the loyalty of clients and the dedication of her team, the company grew rapidly to provide language access in 300+ languages nationwide.
In 2020, Richmond Translator rebranded as Syncroz, a name that reflects the company’s passion to facilitate a world with no language barriers and to get everyone ‘synced up’ and on the same page. Today, under Dr. Reagan’s leadership, Syncroz continues to grow while staying true to its founding purpose: ensuring that language never stands in the way of understanding.
Dr. Reagan holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and is also a licensed trainer for The Community Interpreter, the only training program in the United States for community interpreters. In addition to leading Syncroz, Dr. Reagan is a Full Professor of Spanish at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA and is the author of two books and multiple articles focused on Latin America. She is currently investigating the portrayal of children in films of undocumented Latino migration and disappearances in Mexico. Dr. Reagan is passionate about teaching social change, human rights, and resistance movements in media and culture, community-based learning and service-learning opportunities, internships, and teaching interpreting and translation.
